John 6:66 says, "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."
In John 6, our Lord told His followers some hard things. In verse 61, He even asked the question, "Doth this offend you?". The Saviour then set forth another teaching at which point many turned and followed Him no more.
In our day we are seeing much of the same. So-called "Christians" are offended at the truths of the scriptures. One church in Alabama has been threatened because they would not allow a couple to be in leadership when they were living together, though unmarried. I ask you, "Doth this offend you?" Does it offend you when a man of God preaches on hell or thunders forth against sins plainly rebuked by the scriptures? Does it offend you when preachers speak against those who preach false doctrine? We are so weak. Those of you who claim to follow the Saviour, I ask you "Will ye also go away" or will you determine to be faithful to God's word regardless of opposition?
