Those who believe the Bible are often castigated because of their skepticism of the dictatorial declarations of science. They deny evolution (a fact we are told) and even question scientific certainties concerning the cause and outcome of global warming. How can they be such clods? Do they not know that science deals with certain facts and must be trusted to guide us? Perhaps these scientists should step back from their calculations for a bit so they can see what the rest of us clearly see. For an example, just consider the population explosion.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Hindu-based transcendental meditation movement (TM), is probably in his early 90's and now lives in Holland. However, his representatives have purchased over 1,000 acres in Smith Center, Kansas, the approximate geographic center of the United States. They plan to spend at least $15 million to erect 12-15 buildings for a retreat, training center and residences. About 300 followers of the maharishi plan to meditate here so as to send "waves of coherence" across the country. "The maharishi also is building 'peace palaces' around the world where meditators try to reduce crime and conflict. They are planned for New York City, Minneapolis and Denver; they're already open in Houston, Bethesda, Md., and Lexington, Ky." Instead of saying, You're not in Kansas anymore; we can now say, They're even in Kansas now.

Out of the ensuing medley of scandal, religion, and ballyhoo was born a mystery that endures to this day." Aimee McPherson was one of the chief promoters of early Pentacostalism. The story of her disappearance and the surrounding events is one worth reading.

More and more people are listening to books. Zondervan reported a 24% increase in the sale of audio books over the last two years. Where are the readers who will put Bible-believing materials and older classics into audio format? These works will not have the popularity of the bestsellers, but they could and would change lives. If you are a good reader and would like to make a difference in people's lives without trying to making money, we could use you on our site. Our goal is to get out good material without charge. We would be glad to put good readings up on our internet site. Of course, we would always have the final say on using a particular recording but it would also be yours to use for yourself as you please. We would just need written permission to use it on the site. Perhaps you are not called to preach or teach, but you love to read and have a good reading voice. The Lord could use you in this area. There are many books that are out of copywrite and that would make excellent audio books.
